This bike opens up new possibilities with a coil shock...........especially a fox dhx coil shock.

Truffles: I had to increase the spring rate on my shock from #450 to #500 in order to not bottom mine out, but since then the bike has felt plush throughout the whole range of its travel without the harsh bottoming. Also, I run only 170 psi in the boost valve so the shock feels a bit more plush initially. I only weigh 165 lbs too though.

owedog: They make a short and long, and I have the long. The top tube length is about 22.5" from c to c measured from the top of the head tube to the top of the seat tube. The seat tube is only about 15", and the standover height feels lower than almost any mountainbike I have ridden. I am 6'1" and the bike fits me perfect.

It was just barely used when I bought it, and I think that I paid about $250 for it. I have seen the same shock on ebay for about $275 before, so you might be able to find one there. I bought mine from a guy that races pro XC for santiam bike shop here in salem.

I really like the 4xxxx much better with the coil shock on the back than the stock fox float r shock. It makes the ride much plusher and it even feels like it has more travel. The spring barely clears the lower shock mount part of the frame but I have not had any issues with it contacting it. I have a Fox DHX 4.0 on it and I would highly recommend that you get one for your 4xxxx. Thanks for the props on my 4xxxx and yours looks pretty dope too!
